// Culture

Absolutely. Bringing a friend is called an 'EH' (Emotional Headlock). It's the best way to grow the AO.

Yes. If you need to 'bolt' for work, just let the Q know or slip away quietly. Try to stay for the COT if possible.

No. You can participate as much or as little as you're comfortable with. We respect every man's boundaries.

Most F3 regions use Slack for communication. It's where the 'Second F' lives online. It's the digital locker room.

No sign-up is required. Just check the website for a location and show up at the stated time. We don't do 'memberships.'

Yes. We often have 'Convergences' where multiple AOs meet for a big holiday workout. Holidays are some of our best workouts.

Check the F3 Marietta website or the national F3 map for the AO nearest you. Every AO has a designated 'Site Q.'

It varies by AO. It could be 5 guys or 50. Every man matters the same. Small groups build deeper bonds.

F3 is 100% free. We have no dues, no fees, and no contracts. Ever. The only 'cost' is your sweat and time.

F3 is for adult men (18+). However, many AOs hold '2.0 workouts' for fathers and children. There is no upper age limit.

A common question from outsiders due to our unique language and early hours. Explain that F3 is a free, non-denominational leadership organization that uses fitness to build community.

F3 is for men only. Our sister organization, FiA (Females in Action), is for women. We believe men lead differently in a male-only space.

F3 is not a religious organization, but it is open to all men. 'Faith' simply means belief in something bigger than yourself. We have men of all faiths and no faith.

We compete against ourselves, not each other. We push each other to get better. Iron sharpens iron.

You'll be welcomed, lead through a 45-60 minute workout, and ended with a Circle of Trust (COT). You will be given an F3 name at the end.

Just jump in whenever you arrive. No shame, just get the work in. Better late than never.

Meeting for coffee immediately after the workout to talk and build fellowship. Where the real life-sharing happens.

It's the joking and complaining that builds camaraderie while we suffer together. It makes the workout go faster.

At the end of your first workout, the PAX will 'interrogate' you and give you a name based on your life/interests. You don't get to choose your own name.

The fellowship that happens outside the workout, like grabbing coffee or lunch. It's where 'guys' become 'brothers.'

The commitment to serving your community and living for something bigger than yourself. It gives the fitness a purpose.

Men stand in a circle, count off, name themselves, and share a word of encouragement or prayer. The most important part of F3.

We work out early so we can be better men, husbands, and fathers before the day's demands begin. The 'Gloom' is where the magic happens.

No. While many COTs end in a prayer, it is not required for you to participate or lead one. We are open to all beliefs.

// Fitness

Just yourself, water, and maybe a pair of work gloves for the pavement. If a 'coupon' is needed, we usually provide it.

Most weekday workouts are 45 minutes. Saturdays are often 60 minutes. Starts and ends on time.

No. You don't get in shape to do F3; you do F3 to get in shape. We never leave a man behind. The 'Six' is always protected.

Similar in intensity but different in culture. F3 is outdoors, peer-led, and always free. We don't use fancy equipment.

No. F3 includes strength, core, and cardio. It is functional fitness for the everyday man. Every Q brings a different style.

We always 'pick up the Six.' If you can't do an exercise, you 'modify' it until you can. Leave no man behind.

Don't worry. If the Q plans to use blocks, there are usually extras or you can share. The PAX will take care of you.

Safety is the #1 priority. Modify any exercise that causes pain. Know your limits.

We work out in the rain, heat, and cold. We only cancel for lightning/dangerous conditions. Rain is just 'liquid sunshine.'

Standard athletic gear (wicking shirts, shorts/tights). In winter, dress in layers. Durable running shoes are key. Bring gloves—we spend a lot of time on the ground.

// Leadership

A HIM is just a man who wants to make a difference. You don't start as one; you grow into one. It's a journey, not a destination.

Shadow a veteran Q, sign up on the Q-sheet, and lead your first 'VQ'. Leadership is the core of F3.

Talk to your Nantan or Site Q. We are always looking to plant new AOs. F3 grows through 'expansion.'

Every AO has a Site Q. You can reach out to them via the website or Slack. We are here to help you get started.

A series of principles for virtuous leadership that we study and discuss. It's the 'why' behind the 'what.'

The 'Q' (Quarterback) leads the specific workout. There is no paid staff; it's all peer-led. Every man eventually leads.

The symbolic leader of the local F3 Region (like Marietta). He protects the culture.

// Term

Fitness, Fellowship, and Faith. Fitness is the magnet; Fellowship is the glue.

The final 5-10 minutes of the workout, usually focused on core/abs. Ends right before the COT.

The pre-dawn hours before the sun comes up. It's where the strongest bonds are formed.

A summary of who was there and what we did, usually posted on Slack or the website. Keeps the PAX connected.

A 'coupon' is F3 speak for a weighted object, usually a cinder block. We use them for resistance training.

It's a sign of honor for men who are still getting after it in the Gloom at 50+. Age is celebrated here.

The process of inviting a man to join F3. One man reaching out to another.

AO stands for 'Area of Operations.' It's where the PAX meet. Usually a school or park.

FNG stands for 'Friendly New Guy.' You hold this title until you are named at Name-a-rama. Treat him like a king.
