COT: Jonah was in the belly of a "great fish" praying a prayer of thanksgiving. The fish was Gods deliverance. At the end of the prayer he makes the commitment to "fulfill my vow" because the Lord saved him. I was challenged reading this knowing that I'm not always great with vows. I avoid making vows and I especially avoid communicating with others any commitment to do or not do something. I am challenged by Noah to make sure I have made vows to myself, my family and the Lord. Things I will stand up for, commitments to follow through, beliefs that are non-negotiable. These are all vows worthy of my time and effort. Let's be men of our word and not shy away from being held accountable to fulfill our vows.
